Ingredients:
- russet potatoes
- 16 ounces cod loins
- 2/3 cup AP flour
- 1 tbls corn starch
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbls olive oil
- 6 tbls stout beer

Directions:
- slice the potatoes, 3/16" x 5/8" strips
- deep fry in olive oil
- bowl #1, 2/3 cup flour
- add corn starch and baking power
- add salt and pepper, mix
- bowl #2, beat egg
- add olive oil and beer, mix
- stir in from bowl #2 to bowl #1
- mix to gooey, add a bit more beer if needed
- coat cod with batter, deep fry in oil for 5 minutes
- fish and chips to plate, drizzle on malt vinegar
