Have you ever watched a movie, that, several hours, or even days later, you still think about? Stephen Speilberg's A.I. (Artificial Intelligence), was one of those types for me. It portrays a grim future where the polar icecaps have melted, the oceans have risen by several hundred feet and large cities are now underwater. Countries have enacted population control procedures, due to the lack of natural resources to go around. So, companies have created, robots to fill in as replacements for various tasks. I don't want to give to much away. Even if you didn't like the movie, one would have to admit that, Haley Joel Osment is an excellent actor. I don't think he was yet a teenager when this movie was made, but he can act circles around people who have been in the business for decades. Jude Law was also great as a robot "gigolo". I need to see this one again, as there was too much to take in, in one viewing.
It shows this movie as coming out in 2001. One of the shots is supposed to be the Manhattan skyline underwater, with only the tallest structures peeking out. It was kind of a sad feeling to see what was supposed to be the twin towers rising up out of the ocean.
