A Nice Fourth

Okay, so I went a little crazy this year. I bought more fireworks than usual. A slightly bigger assortment and some extras. I hit the fireworks stand right after I got paid, had some extra money due to the raise, so I decided it would be a multi-celebration. About 9:00pm. we went out and lit them off. It was great. Several of the neighbors had their own little shows going. The people at the end of the block had a huge assortment of illegal stuff. (Fireworks here have to be the Safe and Sane kind, they cannot go airborne and they can't explode.) Anyway, the neighbor at the end of the block was launching skyrockets that were damn near commercial grade. All in all, though, it was a nice 4th of July.

Can get anything here they're illegal and the cops are out in force.

Even when the Safe and Sane ones were illegal here, there were so many people who were lighting them off, that the police were overwhelmed. They sort of looked the other way, unless things got really out of hand.
