Mileage

I called our insurance agent today. Our youngest is being added to our auto insurance policy. He had to update the mileage on the cars. "Do you know what the mileage on the cars is?" Oddly enough, I have those memorized. "On the 2003 Beetle, it's 24,000," I said. "On the 2004 Beetle it's 19,000." And then, I started busting out laughing at this one, "On the 1972 Camaro it's 183,000!" I don't know why that struck me as being so funny. Considering that it's a 34 year old car, that's actually low mileage in comparison to what we are putting on the Beetles. I am averaging 12,000 a year in my 2003 New Beetle. If I were to keep that up for 34 years, the car would have 408,000 miles pegged on the odometer. I doubt the car would even last that long. The old Camaro, though, could probably rack that up, with some work.
