Than sitting around waiting for UPS. My parent's house is sitting empty right now. My dad ordered something over the phone from the rehabilitation center where he is at right now. Instead of having it sent to my sister's house, he had it sent to his house. Whoever sent it, wants it to be signed for, in person. I found a notice on the door, when I went to pick up my parent's mail. I told my sister about it and figured she would get it taken care of. She would either wait during the designated time, or call the 1-800 number and work out an arrangement where she would pick it up. She has more time to do things like this, since she doesn't work. When I went to get the mail yesterday, there was a final notice from UPS. If no one was there to sign for the package it would go back to the sender. Called my sister this morning to see if she had made any arrangements. Nope. Nothing. She didn't even act concerned. "Oh that thing?" Shit!!! I ended up taking a long lunch from work and slummed around my parent's house for two hours waiting for the guy. The note said that he would be there between 10:30am and 2:00pm. I got there at 10:00, just in case he got there at 10:25. He got there at noon. My parent's house has no computer, no cable and they don't take the paper. There wasn't much to do. I watched regular TV and kept listening for the driver. One of the perks of my job is that there is no set schedule. I just need to finish my work. However, if I get there late, I get home late. A two hour lunch got me home around 8:00pm. The UPS man was apologetic. He said that usually he puts the packages on the back porch, but whoever sent this insisted on a signature in person.
