I've been asking myself this question today. I finally hauled all the boxes down from the attic that store the Christmas decorations. With more room up there, I decided to do some cleaning. I come across a stack of calendars. I saved every calendar I have ever been given since 1987. I kept them because I thought the pictures were nice. Some were outdoor scenes, castles in Northern Europe, whales, dolphins and wilderness animals. But, as I looked at them, I realized that they weren't much use up there in the attic. So, I tossed them in the recycle bin. I'm still not sure why I really saved them. I was doing it up to last year. No more.... I have way too much stuff. I can't save everything.
