I had this on my rental queue at Netflix. Finally, it came up in the queue. I watched it tonight. It was pretty good. A downer, but good. Especially depressing when you realize that it is based on a true story. It's based on a book of the same title, written by Susanna Kaysen. It's about her time in a mental institution during the late 60's. In the movie, Winona Ryder played her. Angela Jolie was great as a supporting actress playing a girl named Lisa. I don't know if this particular line was in the book, but it was kind of funny hearing Winona's characted say it in the movie, considering the shoplifting charges she was facing awhile ago: "Have you ever stolen something when you have the cash?"
