One Afternoon, Two Movies

I took it easy today. Last Sunday, I worked most of the day getting caught up on chores around the house. So, I bought Seabiscuit on DVD at Costco this morning and we watched it around noon. Then, we went to see Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King. Both were excellent movies. The battle scenes were awesome in LOTR's. But, what a contrast. We watched Seabiscuit on our 32" television with our surround sound. It was real nice, quiet, etc. At the theater, the movie was almost ruined by a bunch of rude assholes in the audience. One kid, directly behind me, kept up a running dialog throughout the whole movie. And, several dumbasses, brought cellphones and neglected to put them on discreet, or just silence them. Or, maybe they didn't care. So, several cellphones went off during the movie. This is why I rarely go out to the theater anymore. I will be looking forward to Lord of the Rings, Return of the King coming out on DVD, so I can watch it at my leisure, at home, uninterrupted. I guess the one thing that pissed me off the most, was the kid behind me, who was with his mother. And, she really did nothing to shut him the fuck up. Only when people turned around and glared at her, or shushed her little brat, did she attempt to do anything to stifle him. No wonder the little punk thought he could get away with it.
