A Belated Cory Update

It's been hard for me to find the time to post in this thing lately. And, I realized I never posted about what happened at the vet last Wednesday. I had to bring Cory in real early, so they could administer the anesthesia for the biopsy later that afternoon. However, the vet wanted to take and X-ray of the inside of his mouth, to make sure that the bump didn't have anything to do with his teeth. Sure enough, when she got the X-ray, she noticed that the tooth nearest the bump had damage to the root. It was black. It either rotted out or Cory may have chewed on something and a piece could have been jammed into that area around the tooth. That was causing the abcess. The tooth was called a "pre-molar" and it was okay for it to be removed. If it had been one of his canines, it would have been more of a problem. After the surgery to remove his tooth, she tried to get a piece of the little lump for the biopsy. But, according to her, it pulled off and there wasn't really enough to test. That's okay, she's almost 99.9% sure that it is not cancerous. It was definitely related to the rotting root.
