So there I was, using the bathroom at work. I go to wash my hands and look in the mirror. And what should I see poking out the top of my head. No! It can't be!!! Yes... A gray hair. Actually, it was more white. I yank it out and look at it closely. It's white and thicker than the other hair surrounding it. And then, that's when I notice a couple more white hairs. I leave them be. I take the one I yanked out, and put it in my wallet. I get home, pull it out and hand it to Mike. "What color is this?" He looks at it and replies, "Whose hair is this?" "What color is it?" "Whose hair is this?" His tone has the element of fear. It it's my hair, and he says it's white, he's dead. But, I wanted honesty. "It's very, very blond!" Bullshit. It's white. At least there is only two or three of them. And, I start to think back to when I was in my 20's and told myself that I would age gracefully. If my hair goes gray, so be it. I will be gray. What was I thinking!!! Bullshit! If I get more white/gray hairs, I am going to start dying it.

About a month ago I cut off all my hair. It was about 2 feet long, and now it is about 1/4 inch long. That's not my point, though. My point is, I had been finding several grey hairs a month for the past year or so, but now my hair is too short to allow me to yank them out when I see them.
Like you, I also told myself I was going to age gracefully, that when I inevitably started going bald I was going to pull a Charles Barkley. (Direct Quote: "When I started to go bald, I took it like a man.") But I never imagined I'd be considering shaving my head at 30 because of grey hair!!!!
