Don't Rain On My Parade

So, for the first time in 50 odd years it rains on the Rose Parade. More like dumped. It was pouring today. The soil in the yard, where I work, became saturated and the water started to puddle. The whole yard became a pond. I actually welcome the rain for a couple of reasons. When it rains like this, it cuts about an hour and a half off my work day. And, it also rained hard enough to wash all the bird shit and dirt off of my car. It looks real nice now. The people who were huddled under umbrellas and rain ponchos along the parade route, probably didn't share my sentiments. From what I heard, because of the rain, attendance was much lower. One could get a curbside seat half an hour before the parade started. Usually, you have to spend the night to get that. And, quite a few people left before the parade was even over. But, rain or shine, the parade goes on.
