A Break From Tradition

I did something different this year.... Every Christmas Eve, I would wrap the gifts for the girls after they had gone to bed. I'm not sure how this "tradition" got started. It may be that I remember my mom doing the same thing. So here I am, waiting for the girls to go to sleep and then wrapping their gifts. More often than not, they wouldn't get to sleep until midnight. And then I would be wrapping gifts and stuffing the stockings until 2:00am-3:00am. Then, I finally get to go to sleep, only to be woken up by everyone at about 5:00am to unwrap presents. Even though the girls haven't believed in Santa Claus in years, they still like their presents put under the tree after they've gone to bed Christmas Eve. For the first time ever, I wrapped all the gifts already. Two of the girls were out tonight and the third, Amanda was playing Game Cube. So, I took this opportunity to drag everything out and wrap them. So, after they go to bed on Christmas Eve, I can put everything under the tree and do the stockings and get to bed at a more reasonable time. I don't know why I haven't done this sooner, maybe it's my procrastination thing I mentioned in another entry....
