So, I decided to do our Income Tax return last night. (I'm a little behind. I usually get it done in February). Anyway, as I was going through it, I had to figure out whether or not our State Income Tax Refund from last year was to be taxed as income. It told me to look on page whatever and use the table "below", blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I start reading the instructions and it tells me to look at line 25 on my 2001 return. 2001!? So, I had to go try to find last years copy of our tax return. It's not as easy as it sounds. I put all my important tax papers and copy of returns into a file box. Which, due to it being old and overstuffed, fell apart. (Probably due to me stacking other boxes on top of it.) Anyway, I find tax returns scattered all over the floor. I start looking through them, 1985, 1991, 2000, 2001.... 2001!!!!! Oops! That was the State Income Tax Return form, wrong one. I keep looking. I found a manual to our water heater. A pair of earrings I had lost and various other things. But no 2001 Federal Income Tax Return. I look in another box full of drawings and school projects my girls had done and there it was about halfway down. Don't ask me how it got in there.... Maybe gremlins? Anyway, I was able to finish our return and will get it sent off as soon as Mike signs it.
