A Good Way to Lose My Business

Just tailgate me in one of your damn company trucks. While taking the youngest to school this morning, I looked up in the rear view mirror only to see the grill of a tan Toyota Tundra inches off the rear bumper. I peaked in the side view mirror and noticed the driver also has a cell phone jammed against his ear. Nice. When someone tailgates me, I automatically open up the distance between me and the car in front of me. I figure that I'm braking for two now. Me, and the asshole who wants to see what's in the trunk. One of the downfalls of this, is that the moronic tailgater gets even closer to me, which is what the asshat behind me did. I noticed that the front plate was one of those dealer paper plates. Which actually made me more uncomfortable. Why? Think about it. If this person is driving a brand new vehicle, he still may not be used to it. He may not have any idea how much distance it takes to stop. He also may be driving a new vehicle, because he totalled his last one by hanging too close to the bumper of the car in front of him. The car in front of me came to a hard stop suddenly. This was due to the person, in front of him, suddenly turning into a driveway. I started braking, anticipating the fool behind me hitting me. Thankfully, this flushed him out. He drove around me rapidly. I looked at him as he drove by and saw that he was driving a company truck with their named blazed all over the side. So, El Redondo Termite Control, located in Gardena, California, you just lost yourself a customer. I don't do business with companies that have dangerous drivers. And, you might want to take this into account. If that fool rearends someone, that person, when he sees your company name emblazened on the side of that truck, might suddenly get whiplash and sue you. It's called deep pockets. I'm going to call in and complain about the driver. Turns out the truck did have a license plate. On the rear. I couldn't get the complete plate though. After he passed me, he cut over in front of me and made a right turn against the next red light. A nice rolling turn. Never came to a complete stop. And, the cell phone was still jammed against his ear as he drove with one hand on the wheel.

Welcome to My Mail Box

There's a new worm going round. This is what's been welcoming me every day for the past few days. It's the new virus making the rounds. It's been in the news.

Already Planning for the 20th

Mike and I have never been on a cruise. It was actually something that never crossed our minds. We are more of the primitive, dirt camping types. We've always said that we wouldn't turn down a free cruise, just to see what it was all about. Well, an opportunity came up for us to take a last minute cruise from Dec. 5th thru Dec. 8th, of this year. A nice cruise for first timers from Royal Carribean Cruise Lines. It would go from Los Angeles to San Diego, up to Catalina Island, down to Ensenada and back to Los Angeles. Couldn't beat the price. Free. So, we accepted. I was a little worried, though. I would have to find our passports. Mike would need to get a new suit, for the one formal dinner night. And, I would have to get a nice dress. I would be asking for the time off, at the last minute, etc. Well, I worried for nothing. It fell through. We were both a little bummed out. I really like the itinerary, so I decided to book one a little later. That would give us more time to prepare. And then, I thought, "What better way to celebrate our upcoming 20th wedding anniversary!" So, I made reservations for the identical cruise. Unfortunately, one cruise ended on the 22nd, and the next one started on the 25th, so they didn't have any that were actually cruising on September 23rd, the day of our anniversary. So, I reserved the one that departs on the 25th. We both wanted the one after our anniversary, than the one before. Now, I need to find our passports. It will take me between now and next year to find them!

Back to the Old Background

Well, October is over, so it's back to the old background. Hopefully, people will still need to be aware that we are always working towards finding a cure for breast cancer. Not just in October. You can make donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation any time.
