We've been having the Los Angeles Times delivered here for about 15 years. I think in all those years, we probably have not received our paper about 5 times. This morning was one of those times. The other 4 incidents, when we didn't receive it, I called their toll free number and actually talked to a person. They would take a report and a replacement paper would be brought out. Today, I get an automated voice mail thingy that tells me that, "In order to server you faster, we recommend you use our automated voice line, blah, blah, blah..... About 5 key punches later, they have all our information. If your paper does not show up in 90 minutes, please call again. I don't know what would happen if it didn't show up. Would they have me go through that routine again? I don't know. I didn't need to find out. About half an hour later, a driver shows up and drops the paper on the porch. Which was nice. Usually I find it perfectly centered under the car in the driveway.
