I remember an old MGM cartoon involving this dog who checks into a hotel. He tells the owner, Barney Bear, that he doesn't want to hear any noise! "I hate noise!" I can sympathize with that character. I hate excessive noise too. I was bombarded with it at Sam's Club. They had Christmas carols blasting over the store's sound system. And, as I go to check out, the registers are over near their audio/video department. Some nimrods had turned a couple of the stereos up full blast. Unfortunately, they were different stations. And, they also had the bass up as far as it could go. And then, there were home theater systems showing the latest DVD movies. These also were full volume. Along with video game demos. My ears were ringing by the time I left the place. Now, I can feel the beginnings of a headache. Argh!
